Michael G. Bosilovich, Associate Editor for Climate

Michael G. Bosilovich is a scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
His B.S. in meteorology was awarded from Millersville University in Pennsylvania. His M.S. and Ph.D. research studies were completed at Purdue University in Indiana, after which he joined the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (then Data Assimilation Office) in 2000.
His research focuses on understanding global and regional climate processes using models and observations, especially land-atmosphere coupling and water and energy cycles. He has more than 20 first-author, peer-reviewed publications, and another 30 peer-reviewed publications as a contributing author.
In 2005, he was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. He is presently serving on the U.S. Climate Variability and Predictability Research Program’s Phenomena, Observations and Synthesis (POS) Panel, the World Climate Research Programme’s Observations and Analysis Panel, and is program chair for the 4th WCRP International Conference on Reanalyses, planned for May 2012.
Michael was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in Maryland with wife Deborah and their triplets, Juliet, Ethan and Katie.
